Ohio Police Chief Acquited Of Burglary; Guilty Of 3 Other Counts In Sarah Jessica Parker Surrogate Case
An eastern Ohio police chief was acquitted of burglary charges Monday but convicted of three other felonies in an alleged break-in at the home of a woman who carried twins for Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick.
A jury found suspended Martins Ferry Chief Barry Carpenter guilty of receiving stolen property, theft in office and tampering with evidence. He was acquitted on charges of burglary and unauthorized used of property or services.
Carpenter put his head in his hands after the verdict was read in Belmont County court. Messages seeking comment were left for his attorney and for prosecutors who tried the case.
Prosecutors alleged that Carpenter broke into Michelle Ross’ home in May, took items related to her pregnancy and the surrogacy, and schemed with the Police Chief Chad Dojack of neighboring Bridgeport to sell them to celebrity photographers.
Dojack faces trial in January.
Carpenter had testified that he went into the home to check it out because he saw a door open. He said he took photos of a surrogacy file that contained two ultrasound pictures and of a plaster cast of a pregnant stomach. He said he showed the photo of the cast to paparazzi and to several other people, but said he never discussed selling items from the home to the photographers.
Jurors deliberated for about 12 hours on Friday and Monday.
Carpenter faces a maximum 10 years in jail when sentenced Dec. 10. Until then, he must stay in his mother’s home and will be monitored by a GPS device.

"It was pretty warm today and both Sarah Jessica and Cynthia were looking pretty hot and bothered, they kept escaping into their trailers at every opportunity.
"There were crowds and crowds of people watching the filming, and it was kind of a party atmosphere, there was a really good buzz on set.

Kim and chef Alan Wyse, who is 20 years her junior, broke-up “a while ago,” the actress’ rep told Access Hollywood.
“They remain friends,” the rep added.

Sarah Jessica Parker & Matthew Broderick Release First Photo Of Newborn Twins
Sarah Jessica Parker and husband Matthew Broderick have released the first photo of their newborn twin daughters.
The photo was released on Monday evening.
The picture, taken by Robin Layton, shows Sarah Jessica, Matthew, son James Wilkie and twins Marion Loretta Elwell and Tabitha Hodge Broderick in New York.
The twins were born to the couple via a surrogate last week.
This is not the first time Sarah Jessica and Matthew have quashed the fever for the first photo of their new family editions. When James was born in 2002, Sarah Jessica and Matthew posed outside of the hospital their son was born in for dozens of photographers.
“Thanks for caring,” she said at the time, cradling then-baby James. “It must be a slow news week.”

Sarah Jessica Parker & Matthew Broderick Welcome Twin Girls Via Surrogate
hq3rid258x
Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick are proud parents to a new set of twins.
The surrogate mother carrying the couple’s new children gave birth on Monday to the couple’s new daughters – Marion and Tabitha, a rep for the stars confirmed to Access Hollywood.
“Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick are delighted to announce the healthy arrival of their two daughters at 3:58 PM on June 22 in Ohio,” the rep said in a statement to Access. “Marion Loretta Elwell Broderick weighed 5 lbs, 11 oz and Tabitha Hodge Broderick weighed 6 pounds. Both Hodge and Elwell are family names on Parker’s side. The babies are doing beautifully and the entire family is over the moon.”
Earlier in the day on Tuesday, Barbara Walters announced the news on “The View.”
“Sarah Jessica Parker, whom I love, I mean it’s not just ‘Sex and The City,’ she’s such a nice person — she and Matthew Broderick and a surrogate mother just gave birth to twins,” Walters said. “They have a little boy and now they’re going to have girls.”
According to WTRF in Ohio, who also reported the news, Parker and Broderick are at the East Ohio Regional Hospital in Martins Ferry, Ohio, with the surrogate.
The twins were reportedly delivered a few weeks ahead of schedule.
In April, the couple announced they were using a surrogate to expand their family.
“Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick are happily anticipating the birth of their twin daughters later this summer with the generous help of a surrogate,” a rep for the couple told Access at the time. “The entire family is overjoyed.”
The twin girls are the second and third children for Parker, 44, and Broderick, 47, who have been married since 1997.
They also have a 6-year-old son, James Wilkie Broderick.
Following the announcement, Parker sat down with Access Hollywood’s Billy Bush on the set of her new comedy, “Did You Hear About The Morgans?,” to talk about the decision to use a surrogate.
“Well, you know, we’ve been trying to expand our family for a number of years and we actually have explored a variety of ways of doing so,” she said. “This was one of the things we discussed with seriousness that had real possibilities for us.”
And when they found out the surrogate was expecting twins, it was a double dose of joy for the star couple.
“I mean, giggles!” Parker said of her reaction when first learning the news. “We didn’t expect it. I think after a certain amount of time, you tend to hold your hopes at bay a bit so as not to be disappointed. One really would have been thrilling and we would’ve felt incredibly lucky. And two was a comedy!”

Sarah Jessica Parker Talks Tabloid Attention On Her Marriage & ‘Sex And The City’ Sequel
Sarah Jessica Parker expressed her outrage about how her surrogate — the woman carrying her twins – had been identified by the tabloids and followed by the paparazzi. Today, Sarah handles the shots taken at her marriage.
“Do you have immunity to things said about you?” Access Hollywood’s Billy Bush asked Sarah Jessica on the set of her new movie “Did You Hear About The Morgans?”
“Am I immune to it? No. Do I read it? No,” she said. “That doesn’t mean I don’t have an inkling or that I don’t smell it around me… It’s hard because things are hurtful and things are shocking.”
Being targets for a tabloid is not new ground for Sarah Jessica and Matthew Broderick, who just last summer faced reports about their supposed marital problems. Now, the salacious headlines have gone off on a tangent, outraging Sarah Jessica. The focus: the surrogate mother who is carrying the couple’s twins.
“How is Matthew in all of this? Is he furious? Because he doesn’t seem like a man that would get furious and want to rip off heads?” Billy asked.
“No, he’s furious,” Sarah said. “He’s angry. It’s shocking daily because there are daily if not more-than-daily incidents… As a parent, it’s so interesting how differently you function when you have a child. I have a responsibility to somebody far more important than myself. I look [at my son James Wilkie’s] face and I think, ‘He can’t… he doesn’t need to know about this. He doesn’t need to know what’s upsetting me right now. It does him no good. He can’t help me. He will only worry.’”
Sarah Jessica is currently away from her family, on the New Mexico set of her upcoming romantic comedy with Hugh Grant, “Did You Hear About The Morgans?”
In August, she’ll start shooting the “Sex and The City” movie sequel and she took time to tackle a few questions about the follow up.
“Will Carrie be pregnant?” Billy asked.
“Well, first of all, I really don’t know because I haven’t seen a script,” she said. “I know an outline.”
“But you have had discussions with people,” Billy commented.
“I know, I know. I can’t pretend anymore Billy. I feel like you’re looking inside my soul,” she laughed. “I won’t tell you.”
“Have the designers begun falling all over each other to send in the gear?” Billy asked.
“I think it’s going to be very interesting – or, it should be — because you know, our country has changed significantly in a year,” Sarah Jessica said. “[Carrie] will have been affected and she’s not an idiot. She’s gonna have to change her thinking about indulgence.”
Sarah herself indulged in the ultimate extravagance of the accessory kind a year ago at the film’s London premiere.
“The hat heard round the world, do you keep it in a box?” Billy asked. “Does it have its own museum?”
“Do you know where the hat is – it’s on tour – in museums,” Sarah Jessica revealed. “I think it’s traveling in Europe as we speak!”

Carrie might have Mr. Big, but will Samantha Jones get her naked neighbor – played by “Dancing With the Stars” standout Gilles Marini – back for the sequel?
