'Mr. Big' to return in 'Sex and the City 2'


In a seven-figure deal, Chris Noth has committed to "Sex and the City 2," the sequel to be directed by Michael Patrick King for New Line Cinema.

The pic shoots in early September, and Warner Bros. has set a May 28, 2010, release date. The original grossed $412.6 million worldwide.

Noth will next be seen onscreen in "My One and Only" and will reprise his Off Broadway role in the play "Farragut North," which opens at L.A.'s Geffen Playhouse in June and also stars Chris Pine.

Mr. Big Signs Up For More ‘Sex’ – Possibly Gilles Marini Too


After rumors of contract spats and reports of scheduling problems, Mr. Big will reportedly return for the “Sex and The City” sequel.

According to E! Online, Sarah Jessica Parker confirmed that Carrie and Mr. Big, played by actor Chris Noth, will once again reunite on the big screen in the sequel that series creator Michael Patrick King is currently writing. As for details on the couple’s storyline, it’s still a mystery to even the series star.

“I don’t know anything yet,” Sarah told E! on Monday night at the “Wonderful World” premiere during the Tribeca Film Festival.

Carrie might have Mr. Big, but will Samantha Jones get her naked neighbor – played by “Dancing With the Stars” standout Gilles Marini – back for the sequel?

“I don’t have a clue,” Sarah said. “I don’t know anything specific about a story for him, but it’s very possible.”

Warner Bros and New Line set date for 'Sex and the City 2'


Warner Bros. and New Line will release "Sex and the City 2" in theaters on May 28, 2010.

"Sex 2" will bow in the same slot in which "Sex and the City" opened in 2008.

The bigscreen adaptation of the hit HBO series was a box office hit, opening to $57 million on its way to cuming $152.6 million domestically.

Pic made an even stronger showing overseas, grossing $260 million at the international box office for a worldwide total of $412.6 million.

So far, sequel doesn't have any direct competition over the May 28-30 weekend. The following frame, Lionsgate is set to release an untitled romantic comedy starring Katherine Heigl and Ashton Kutcher.
